Every Asset, Connected to the
Energy Web Chain

EW Link enables market participants to connect assets—from utility-scale generation to customer-sited distributed energy resources (DERs)—to the Energy Web Chain with different software and hardware architectures.
From utility-scale wind, solar, and thermal generation, to DERs such as smart thermostats, behind-the-meter energy storage, and electric vehicles, EW Link enables assets to establish a unique digital identity, and to connect to and transact on the Energy Web Chain. This flexible SDK accommodates assets with a variety of hardware and software architectures via full clients, light clients, and APIs.

From grid-scale systems to behind-the-meter assets, Link connects the physical world to the digital blockchain:

Connect via SCADA / Server:

Utilities, grid operators, and others can run a full EW client with bond code that connects to the SCADA API.

Connect via Edge Device:

Edge devices can run a light EW client with bond code to specific APIs.

Connect via Smart Meter:

Smart meters can run a full EW client with bond code.
The Energy Web is an open-source, scalable blockchain platform specifically designed for the energy sector’s regulatory, operational, and market needs.
